Safety City at the Fair

Safety City, a walk-through expo manned by local law enforcement officers and emergency responders, will give kids the chance to pose for pics with police cars and fire trucks during the Haywood County Fair from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, September 26.

Public safety officers will provide outreach on fire safety and DWI awareness, including the experience of donning “fatal vision” goggles that simulate what it’s like to be impaired while going through the paces of a sobriety traffic stop.

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will have a boat kids can board to learn about water safety, and K9 handlers will be onsite with their K9 police dogs.
